Update and More Snow :( :(

I've been working on Block #8 on Christmas of Hawk Run Hollow. One of my January goals is to get this block finished. I am not doing the blocks in numerical order. I LOVE Carriage House Samplings but I've found it difficult to decipher the symbols for thread color on this pattern. They have many symbols that are very similar and I just can't tell what color I am supposed to be using, so I'm using a fair amount of guess work in some areas.

This is what the whole piece is looking like right now.

We are in the midst of another snowstorm, prediction is 5-10 inches. We're always on the higher end of any prediction. We already have 5 inches and it's supposed to snow until late tonight. And then another storm on Friday, arrgghh, enough already. I need spring and sunshine.

Oh noooo on the snow, but the update on the stitching is very nice! I think you have the colors sorted out, and if not, it's YOUR sampler!

Beautiful progress! You might want to check on Kathy's site to see if there are corrections on some symbols -- could that be the problem? Anyway, it's looking good!

We're getting freezing rain on top of snow. Ugh. I'm soooooo sick of winter and it's just started. Sigh.

CaHRH is looking fabulous! I have this chart but haven't looked at it that closely. I'll have to be careful when I stitch it too. Thank you for the heads up!

I'm in Florida without snow and I totally agree with you that I'm ready for sunshine. We've had a particularly grey winter so far.

Well, guess work or not...it is beautiful! I keep resisting buying this chart. It is just so expensive. Of course, even more so was the book of cat samplers and now I am so glad I did do it. I just love how this looks. It seems it would feel good to stitch as it is like lots of little finishes?

Want to share some snow? Our winter went back to typical Dutch...rain and wind which feels colder than snow as it is just too wet outside. The birds are singing though as though it is already spring.

No better weather to stitch in than a snowstorm. :-)

Hugs from Holland ~

Awesome progress on HRH. I hate when symbols are hard to tell apart!

I had trouble with the symbols on CatHRH, too, but with this block I ended up totally changing many of the colors, so I can't offer any help! Just pick something you like and you'll be happy in the end :)
