It's the last day of 2010 and I got a $258.33 speeding ticket. I didn't know speeding fines could go that high. Shssssssh, certainly put a damper on the day. And I would say this sums up what 2010 was like for me. I hope 2011 is better.

Stitching for someone I love

I started Once Upon A Time by Passione Ricamo 4 days ago and this is how it's looking so far. This is for my daughter who got engaged 5 days ago. She's getting married this summer so I needed to get moving on this piece. I'm stitching it on 28ct "Peach Grove" lugana which is what the pattern calls for. I'm not a fan of 28ct nor of lugana but I'll survive it. I just love working on this piece, it's been a while since I've stitched something for one of my kids and it's wwaaaaaaaayyyy more fun than stitching for myself.
I officially started my diet and new exercise program today. Feeling hopeful I can lose the weight I want to.
I've been working a little bit on changing my blog also. It takes me so long to figure things out but I'll eventually get the blog looking the way I want it.
Thanks for visiting and have a safe and Happy New Year!

New presents, stitching, goals and family news

Well, I had such a marvelous Christmas. All of my kids were here and it was sooooo relaxing. My big present is a new computer from DH. The computer store was able to retrieve our photos from the computer that crashed (thankfully). And now I have a normal sized laptop instead of the tiny netbook I was trying to use.

On the stitching front, here is Town by The Workbasket which is part of a series. There are 4 pieces, I've already done Country and there is also Village and Woodlands, which I will stitch at some point.
Here is Country.

And the best and biggest news is our oldest daughter is now engaged. She'll be 21 next week and will probably get married this summer (yikes, lot's of planning coming up). Her fiance' took my husband out to lunch last week and asked him for her hand. He is so sweet and loves her so much. We know he will always treat her well and take good care of her.
She's has always loved Passione Ricamo's "Once Upon A Time" so I'm going to stitch this for her as an engagement/bridal shower gift. Which means I need to get stitching!!!! I'll need to adjust the hair color on the man but the girl's hair is the exact same color as my daughter's. A better picture of this is in my side bar. I have the linen it calls for but it isn't as colorful as the original shows.

BLOG HELP------I have been signing up to "follow" people's blogs but don't know how to put a "follow" link on my own blog. Can anyone help me out?

Thank you!!

Well yesterday I was ready to post pictures of another project I am working on when our main computer crashed :(. Hubby has been unable to fix it so we will need to bring it to a computer store to see if they can fix it. I'm worried about all the family pictures we have on there. We've never backed up anything on that computer (dumb of us). So I can't post pictures, neither my little laptop nor my husband's will take a memory card. So I'm down in the dumps about the computer and the fact that I hadn't received but 2 comments on my first post since I've been visiting many blogs. But much to my surprise when I went to post this morning I see that I have TEN comments that need to be published!! TEN!! I thought the comments would come to my email and that's how I would know I had them but they just went to my blog and waited there to be published. So thank you so much for commenting. You have lifted my spirits and your comments were just so lovely. Now I have to figure out how to have them appear through my email to be able to see that I have comments.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I look forward to getting to know you all better and enjoy your stitching. I'm already making a list of things I want to stitch from visiting you all.
Thanks again for making my day!!

A New Blog

Well, I gave Wordpress a try and it was waaaayyyy too complicated for me so I've switched to Eblogger. This is much easier (I think). I want to thank Catherine for being the first and only person to comment on my Wordpress blog. You should check out her blog when you have a chance. I was reluctant to start publishing on this blog until I had it looking better but then figured why wait?? I'll be changing things on my blog as I figure things out. One of the pieces I am working on is Christmas of Hawk Run Hollow by Carriage House Samplings. I am stitching it with NPI silks on 36 ct Vintage Examplar by Lakeside Linens.

Last year I stitched Village of Hawk Run Hollow (was one of my favorite pieces of all time to stitch) and here is a picture.

I have already visited many blogs and will start commenting soon. I'm so impressed by so many of your blogs. Nice inspiration, thanks!!
