St. Petersburg White Nights

This is St. Petersburg White Nights by Chatelaine. It is one of Martina's mandalas and it is my nemesis. This piece is so beautiful but very intense and difficult on the dark blue linen. Once done I know this will be stunning but I also know I will never do another mandala. I'm on parts 5, 6 & 7 depending on what corner you're looking at. I started this about 4 years ago when it wasn't available to buy publicly. I am hoping to finish this within the next 2 years (don't want to put too much pressure on myself).

Thanks for stopping by and oh by the way, we're going to get somewhere in the vicinity of 12-20 inches of snow tomorrow. Ugghhh, I need spring to be here.

It's absolutely beautiful, so it'll be worthwhile in the end, but I hear you on the dark fabric. If I were doing this one, it would be way at the bottom of the pile because I'd be avoiding it! Best of luck on the snow--hopefully you have a snow blower.

OMG! This is soooo gorgeous!!!! The linen must be tough to work on, but it is so going to be worth it when it's done. I love that color for the project! Wow! I'll root you on - go go go! Beautiful!

Hang in there with St. Petersburg. It is absolutely stunning and will be a family heirloom when you are done!

St Petersburg is in my top 3 Chats. It's stunning! I can imagine how hard it is to stitch on the dark blue linen but in the end, it will be so worth it! Hang in there...

I'm at about that same point on my Mystery 9. It's been a WIP since 2006. Your St. Pete's is gorgeous. I'm hoping to get back to M9 in the next week or so. Those Chatelaines are tough going, but oh so worth it in the end!

It's looking gorgeous, but I can well believe it's tough going.

You're the second person I've seen to be stitching this piece. I can only imagine the work that goes into this. It's absolutely beautiful on that fabric!
