Quaker Halloween and Flowers

Below are the lovely flowers my husband gave me for Valentine's Day. Fresh flowers are my favorite thing to receive (especially from hubby).

Now here is my progress on Quaker Halloween. This first picture looks good but you need to look at the second picture to see how close I am to the edge of the linen. And I am not the one who cut this linen. The linen is from Vikki Clayton and I think she must have been in a hurry when she cut this.
Now, it is my fault that I'm so close to the edge. When I started my second motif I accidentally flipped my project around. This was such a silly mistake because I actually marked the top of the linen just so this wouldn't happen. Thankfully the person who will frame this for me is a friend and I've done this to her several other times and she always does an amazing job.

I'm off to a conference (for work) in New York this afternoon and won't be back until late Friday night. I'm not looking forward to it because I am so busy that this is kind of stressing me out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Lovely flowers! And I love your Quaker Halloween! Bummer about the fabric, but it sounds like your framer will know what to do. Hope NY is fun and not all business.

Ooh, that cutting is...interesting...

If I were in your shoes, I think it might be worth zigzagging that edge on your sewing machine (if you have one) or trimming it with pinking shears to minimize the risk of fraying. I love what you've done so far though - the colours are great and this looks like a fun piece!

Good luck with your work trip too.

Pretty flowers! Your HQ looks great! How scary to be so close to the edge though. It will all work out for framing. Enjoy your business trip to NY! I think it's a fun city!

Me again - sorry for the double comment. I clicked on your photo to see it in more detail - did you realise you've left off a few stitches on the acorn motif (the top acorn)? And did you choose your own colour palette? It looks wonderful!

Quaker Halloween looks good - but oh, that fabric edge! I have framed things with very little fabric at the edge, so I am sure your framer will be able to take care of it for you!

Hmmm...I've never seen linen cut quite like that... I love this piece, Pam--wonderful fabric and color choices, too!

Your flowers are lovely...and your Quaker piece is coming right along...was the fabric actually cut like that when you received it? I love that blue motif with the little skulls!

Enjoy your conference. Business travel always poses challenges for me.

I love fresh flowers too. I especially enjoy them this time of year as they're a bright spot in the dreary gray days we seem to have in the winter. I'm really looking forward to tulip season!

I can't say I've ever seen a more poorly executed cut job - ever! Is that typical???

Your stitching looks great. You may be able to sew another bit of linen to the edge to give your framer something to wrap.

Those flowers are beautiful.
I;ve never seen a piece of bought fabric cut as bad as that. Your piece is so pretty. Glad you have a good framer to fix it.

Your flowers are beautiful! I love your Quaker Halloween. If your framer needs more on the edge you can sew a strip of muslin.

Your flowers are beautiful - it makes me feel bad that I did not take a picture of the ones my DH gave me. Now I am at DD's and can't - bummers. Your Halloween Quaker is coming along great. Good you have a framer that can deal with that cut. Well, since you have to be in NY, just relax and enjoy it!!

I love the colours you chose for Quaker Halloween! I'm sure your framer will do a great job with it - I don't think I could get that kind of rough edge if I tried my best, how did they do it?

Oofh--what an edge! Looks like it was scrunched up and then cut! Is that some sort of anti-fray plan? Doesn't LOOK like it would particularly work...Hmmn. I know that If I bought fabric and it came cut like that I wouldn't buy again!

Or is it a method that you use for some reason?

In any case, your stitching looks great and I'm glad you have a good framer so that the close edge won't be a problem. :D

Take care on your trip!

That was very sweet of your DH :o)

That's too bad but at least it can still be worked with. It's amazing what can be done ;o)
