And he touches her....

Her beau has finally showed up. I just love this piece. I've not stitched his hair because I need to change it from black to "dirty blonde". I've never changed hair color before, does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about doing this? I'd appreciate any help you can give me on this.

Well, as many other bloggers have been saying.....I'M TIRED OF ALL THIS SNOW!! We have passed the 50 inches mark for this winter. I'm ready for spring, green grass and flowers.
I see from reading your blogs that many of you are involved in exchanges. Can I ask how I go about being in an exchange. I know of one stitcher who may be doing an Easter exchange but I would love to be involved in more.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

And what a handsome fella he is. If you will email me at drewsgrands@hotmail.com I can give you a couple of links to exchanges that are out there. You can also offer to do a personal exchange with other stitchers.

Hi!

As far as the hair color, you might want to do a google search for Mirabilia or Lavender and Lace conversion to blonde and some results may pop up. I've heard a few people do conversions for these designers and the results might pop up on some of the message boards and that will give you some ideas of colors to use based on photo results.

And for exchanges, you might want to see if there is an opening in Hooked on Exchanging or offer up a request for private exchange on your blog. I'm buried at the moment but you never know...

Love your progress on this piece. Sorry I can't help with either of your questions.

Hi . To change hair colour , the best I can suggest is to have a really good quality and reasonable sized photo to work from and lay the threads over to compare , unless you have a shade card. Use the same number of shades as in the original if possible .
Exchanges are set up on some groups and forums , or just personal ones between friends and bloggers . It's a good way to get to know someone and stitch something a bit different .
Hope this help . X

Your stitching is lovely - and great progress on this beautiful picture.

I can't help on changing the hair colour, sorry. As for the echanges, I've been in two of them. Both times I was contacted directly by a fellow blogger who was organizing the exchange and asking potential participants if they were interested. There are also blogs dedicated to exchanges, but I'm in none of those.

Your stitched piece is so beautiful! It must be enjoyable to stitch and watch it take shape. As for hair color changes I'm not much help. I just go through my threads and pick one I like. Can't wait to see the next progress picture.

Oh, you have been getting so much snow up there in NH! My sister lives in Boston and it just sounds dreadful--hang in there :)

Your couple is looking so pretty. When I make color changes, I just hold up threads until the right one "hits me." Try a bit of the color--you can always rip it out if it doesn't work for you.

Lovely looking couple :)

Your piece is really looking gorgeous. I am sorry that I have no idea what to do about changing hair colors. I think the idea of googling sounds great. I am also no help with exchanges. I admire people that are in them, but I am too slow a stitcher to feel comfortable signing up for one.

My DS#1 lives in Maine, and he too is tired of snow. Hope it clears up and stays away for a while.

You asked about exchanges. Try this site:

Your couple is coming along nicely! It looks like some others have already suggested the same things I would have.

I agree - bring on spring!

So far, I have only participated in one exchange organized by another blogger. I like the idea of personal exchanges as well.

Looking fantastic! When I change colours I pick the colour I want it to be then I pull all the colours its charted as and look at the colour value/weight and pick a new colour out of the colour scheme I want.

Nice progress on your design! It sounds like you got some good advice on both changing hair color and the exchanges. Good luck!

I haven't joined in an exchange for a long time so I can't help you with that. As for changing hair colors, what I would usually do would be to find a Mirabilia/L&L/PR chart that has the hair color I wanted, isolate those colors in the hair and also the colors in her beau's hair, arrange both sets of colors from dark to light and replace with the blonde set. Not sure how clear my explanation is but I hope it makes sense. Email me if you need more help :)
